The 2016 Golden Bucket and Spade Sand Art Competition has officially wrapped up, following a successful inaugural year. The contest, sponsored by Konfidence, invites children aged 8 years and under to submit their best artwork created on the beach through the summer months, with a range of prizes up for grabs. There were some terrific and very inventive entries submitted over the summer.

In addition to the unique gold, silver and bronze bucket and spade trophies, the winners will also receive vouchers to spend on Konfidence baby swimming and learn to swim products – £200 for first place, £100 for second, and £50 for third. Plus, our friends at Trunki and Bombura will also provide a Trunki Ride-On Suitcase and Bombura Hooded Changing Robe for each of the three winners.

This year's entries were judged by TV's Lucy Piper, who is known for her work as a regular guest on QVC and Sky's Money Channel, as well as her appearances in numerous commercials and magazines. Speaking about picking a winner, Lucy said "It was a tough decision, as there were lots of great ones! But with a little help from the mini Pipers, I can reveal the winners..."

1st Place: Bex Steed – Pearl the Mermaid

Lucy said about Bex's photo: "I love this entry because of the attention to detail through the shelled mermaid tail, bikini, and even seaweed hair. Very creative and fun!"

As part of our sponsorship of the Golden Bucket and Spade Sand Art Competition 2016, we partnered with the Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust to raise money throughout the duration of the competition. Customers were also invited to donate during this period, and many people generously did so. Thank you for supporting the cause – together, we managed to raise a total of £585.84 for the Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust!
