JOHN LEWIS MAKES A SPLASH WITH KONFIDENCE TO BRING ECO-FRIENDLY CHILDREN’S SWIMWEAR TO THE HIGH STREET

Over the last seven years, Konfidence has enjoyed great success selling its premium range of baby and children’s swimming range with John Lewis; and now the retail giant is taking the eco-lead by becoming the first on the high street to stock Konfidence’s new range of Splashy™ swimming nappies, swimsuits and wetsuits that are made from the British company’s own environmentally-friendly e-Flex™ material.

 

Konfidence’s award-winning Splashy™ range represents a world-first in eco-friendly swimwear designs and will offer John Lewis’s customers a unique sustainable alternative to traditional neoprene swim nappies, swimsuits and wetsuits.

With today’s parents being more environmentally-conscious, Cornwall-based Konfidence has for a long time wanted to create a new range of baby and children’s swimwear that could provide a sustainable alternative to neoprene, which traditional swim nappies and baby wetsuits have been made from.  This is because neoprene is not recyclable; it is a man-made rubber - an oil-based derivative – and consequently it does have a significant impact on the environment.

With recent advancements in technology and available materials Konfidence has been able to achieve this by creating their own e-Flex™ material for the new Splashy™ range - it combines nylon, polyester and recycled plastic, and replicates many of the characteristics of neoprene, but crucially it is a material that is environmentally kinder to the planet. 

The Splashy™ products also provide 50+ UV protection on all covered areas, making them the perfect choice for holidays this summer. The swimwear comes in a wide range of cute and colourful designs too for ages 3 months onwards for the Splashy™ Nappy and Swimsuit, and up to 7 years for the Splashy™ Wetsuit.

All of the Splashy™ product’s, which are endorsed by the STA, a UK national governing body for swimming, will also be presented to customers in recyclable cardboard packaging.

Konfidence’s new Splashy™ range will be in John Lewis stores and online from the end of March 2022. They will also sit alongside Konfidence’s multi-awarding-winning learn to swim aids, which includes the Original Konfidence Jacket and Floatsuit.
