Poolside Protection for Peace of Mind on Holiday

For International Learn to Swim Week, we wanted to talk to parents about the importance of poolside safety on holiday. To give you the best insight, we thought we’d turn to specialist family holiday experts Tots To Travel.

“It’s true, babies and toddlers turn into inquisitive little creatures once they find their feet. This new-found freedom means a lot of exploring and wandering (or crawling) off on their own little adventures. Whilst this is fantastic for development, it can also pose some potential risk – especially whilst on holiday.

The sparkly blue pool water can look attractive to your little ones, making it something they’ll want to investigate. However, all it takes is a lack of poolside protection or a momentary glance in the opposite direction, for your tot to go tumbling into the pool.

Not something that’s pleasant to think about but it is something we know all too well. Our founder, Wendy Shand established Tots to Travel after her two-year-old son Barnaby fell into an unenclosed pool. Frustrated by the lack of safe, family friendly holiday villas available online, she founded Tots to Travel, a specialist child friendly villa and resort company.

It can be tricky to keep little explorers water safe every minute of the day.
