2010 Name the Dolphin Competition

We are delighted to announce the start of our fifth annual 'Name our Dolphin' competition this month in association with WDCS, the Whale and Dolphin Conservation Society.

All you have to do is be under 14 on the 1st of November 2010 and think of a name for the dolphin that features in the Konfidence logo. When the competition closes, the winner will be the name we like the best.

As in previous years the first prize for the winning entrant is a Dolphin Adoption from the the Whale and Dolphin Conservation Society paid for by Konfidence until the entrants 18th Birthday.

Last year’s winner, Jasmine, won with the name Jazzie’. Jasmine has a dolphin adoption until her 18th birthday and she and her family enjoyed a weekend break at Center Parcs, Longleat courtesy of Konfidence.

Past winners have included Lydia with the name 'Kiki', Jinnie with 'Merphin' and our inaugural winner Laura with 'Quikfinz' whose name is still carried on our Dolphin Floats. Some previous noteworthy entrants also include Dil'N'Poh, Bowrider and our left field favourite 'Mustard Lovely Fins' which kind of reminds us of a certain Father Ted episode involving a Song For Europe......

In addition to the Dolphin Adoption, the winner will also recieve a £500.00 voucher from Konfidence towards the cost of a fantastic family weekend break at a UK Holiday Centre including one of the Center Parcs, Oasis or Alton Towers.

Also, the first 200 entrants will receive a free 'Konfidence Renewed' Neoprene Pencil Case.

"When we started this competition in 2006, we had no idea it would be so well received," said Andy Regan, MD of Konfidence Int, "the enthusiasm shown by all the entrants is astonishing. We love the idea of engaging kids in such a worthwhile initiative and in turn, making a small contribution to the preservation and well being of these extraordinary animals. I think we can learn a great deal from them. We hope to be able to add a Roll of Honour and Gallery of all the pictures and drawings sent in by the entrants onto our website, www.konfidence.co.uk."

So once again, if you are under 14 and would like to enter, now is the time to put your thinking caps on, be creative and think outside the box. We love to hear from you and see your pictures too.
