Baby Swimming Information
Being calm and confident in the water is an important phase in any child's development so going to a baby swimming class is a great way to get started. Although babies don't start swimming until they are about 16 months old getting them used to the water and relaxed in this environment will really help them out once they move onto this vital phase.
At Konfidence we work closely with the STA (Swimming Teachers Association) and have been proud to sponsor their 'Starfish' Baby Swimming programme. As a result of our work with the STA and various swimming schools around the country, we've developed a range of Baby Swimming products that will keep your baby warm in the water, as well as safe and happy.
How soon can my baby start baby swimming lessons?
According to Department of Health guidelines, it's never too soon to get your baby in the water even if they haven't had all of their immunisations yet. However, if you are in any doubt we recommend you consult a qualified health professional or your local swimming teacher. Source: STA Starfish swimming Guide
What do I need?
You'll find everything you need to start baby swimming lessons contained in our convenient 'My First Swim Pack'. If you buy one of these you'll be able to comply with the 'double layer' system imposed by many public swimming pools for health and hygiene reasons, as well as all the clothing you need to help keep your baby warm in the water. We've added two more pack options, silver and gold with extra goodies to make trips to the pool easier and more fun.
